Imperial e-Sports will represent Brazil in the World Electronic Sports Games（WESG）2018-2019 season. Gustavo's team "Shoowtime" Gonçalves won the online qualifier and will participate in the Grand Final - which distributes US $ 890,000 in China.
The Emperors' competition began with a dominant victory on both sides against HARDNEJA at the Mirage. Soon after, there was the strong Team One - with all the experience gained in North America - ahead. Thiago "Tifa" France took responsibility for himself and guided his team to a 2-1 victory, face-off.
Late in the evening, INTZ was the last step for Imperial to achieve his goal. To the surprise of many, two unilateral maps closed the account quickly in a 2-0 in favor of Imperial, again with typhus being the highlight of the game.
It is also worth remembering that both the Golden Boys and the Intrepid have played the qualifier with completes. One needed to replace Nicolás "nikoM" Miozzi with Vinícius "vsm" Moreira from DETONA GAMING because of tournament rules regarding foreigners. Already at INTZ had to play with Lucas "destiny" Team Wild Bullo in place of Alexandre "xand" Zizi, who went to the hospital at the last minute because he did not feel well.
The CS: GO WESG 2018 Brazil final still takes place today, Friday (30). Imperial e-Sports will face Sharks Esports in a better three (MD3) to define who goes to the world-class championship. The match is scheduled for 16h and will be broadcast on two Brazilian channels: gauleS and xjoker.
The WESG 2018, in turn, takes place in Chongqing, the same Chinese city as the Dota Major 2. Despite the name, the competition starts only in March 2019, still without the defined days. There, 32 teams will compete for the title and most of the $ 890,000 prize pool.
The teams confirmed so far are:
